Visit of Shri Mahendra Kumar to Uttarakhand Virtual Studio

The Uttarakhand Virtual Studio, Dehradun welcomed Shri Mahendra Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, on 25 February 2026 for a review of the initiative and its contribution to digital learning across the state.

During his visit, Shri Mahendra Kumar reviewed the functioning and impact of the Virtual Smart Classroom ecosystem, particularly its role in extending quality educational opportunities to students in remote and geographically challenging areas.

He appreciated the Virtual Studio as a Centre of Excellence for digital learning, recognising its potential to bridge geographical barriers and connect students with structured, technology-enabled education. He further highlighted the initiative as a “Best Practice” that could serve as a reference for similar education interventions.

The visit also emphasised the importance of continuous evaluation and outcome-based monitoring to strengthen the effectiveness of the programme. Regular assessment of implementation, student engagement, and learning outcomes can help identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that technology continues to deliver meaningful educational impact.

The visit reaffirmed the growing role of the Uttarakhand Virtual Smart Classroom initiative in making connected and inclusive learning accessible to students across the state.
